History of ASTI


Energized by the next generation of challenges,
ASTI is surpassing all personal beliefs.
More than 40 years since establishment in 1963. ASTI has been continuously working towards the needs of society and the customer. Success at ASTI can be attributed to the desire to look at the next generation as a challenge while also looking at the requirements of the changing times. Everyday, ASTI goes towards the future from new starting points. It is the path to technology and challenges.


From Establishment to 1970

1963 May Founded Pen Oil Sales Company in Asada-Cho, Hamamatsu-Shi, Shizuoka. Started sales of oil products like lubricants for automobiles and ships.
1965 April Started assembling and machining piano action parts.
1966 April Changed the name of the corporation to Pacific Enterprise Company.
1966 November Started assembling and tuning organ mechanisms
1967 January Transferred operations for oil product parts to Taiheiyou Sekiyu Corp.
1968 September Started production of wire harnesses for electronic organs.

1969 May Established a new electronics factory in Enshuuhama, Hamamatsu-Shi, Shizuoka to expand production of audio amplifiers.

From 1971 to 1980

1972 June Established the new Nishijima factory in Nishijima-Cho, Hamamatsu-Shi, Shizuoka to expand production of wire harnesses for electronic organs.
1972 June Inaugurated the department for development of technology
1972 July Started production of wire harnesses for two wheeled vehicles
1974 August Established a new stereo factory (currently Fukushima Factory) in Fukushima-Cho, Hamamatsu-Shi, Shizuoka to expand production of stereo amplifiers.

1977 June Moved head office to the Nishijima factory.
1979 February Established Tai Ruey Electrical Industries Co. Ltd. in Taiwan as an overseas joint venture and started production of wire harnesses.
1979 August Started production of car radios.

1979 October Established Taiheiyou Electronics Co. Ltd. as a subsidiary in Irino-Cho, Hamamatsu-Shi, Shizuoka to produce printed boards for electronics.

From 1981 to 1990

1982 March Started production of answering machines for America.

1982 November Established a new electronics factory (currently Ryuyo Factory) in Ryuyo-Cho, Iwata-Gun, Shizuoka

1983 May Started production of electronic control boards for home electronics.
1983 June Started bike audios and started production for America.

1984 March Started production of satellite receivers for America.

1988 October Established the new Asaba Factory in Asaba-Cho, Iwata-Gun, Shizuoka (currently Fukuroi-Shi) to expand the electronic circuit board production department because of an increase in the production of satellite receivers and acoustic equipment.

1992 January Changed the name of the corporation to Asti Corp.
1992 January Liquidated the overseas subsidiary ASTI Corporation of America.
1992 April Opened a precision plastic molding department.

1995 June Changed the name of the corporation in the Articles of Incorporation to ASTI Corp.
1995 August Started production of circuit boards for mobile phones.

2007 March Built a new head office/factory in Yonezu-cho, Minami-ku, Hamamatsu and transferred the head office functions to the new office.
2008 April Started FA equipment sales business.
2009 January Entered the mobile power electronics business. Announced the experimental vehicle “evivo.”

2017 October Implemented a reverse stock split (five shares to one share) at the same time as changing the unit number of our shares (from 1,000 shares to 100 shares).
2018 December Established ASTI RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT VIETNAM CORPORATION in Vietnam as an overseas subsidiary.
